Pat Condell On The Tyranny Of Scriptures genre: Hip-Gnosis

Ouch! In the following video, Pat Condell, a stand-up comic and frequent critic of religion, is acutely acerbic in his criticism of scripture and those who choose to blindly embrace it. Condell has never been one to mince words...and he certainly does nothing to change that perception in this diatribe.

Condell has a unique ability to cut to the chase and connect the dots. While many may take issue with his delivery, there is no doubt that he is an important voice for those who seek to end the strangle hold religious ideology has on a number of societies.

Underlying Condell's critique of religion is a concern for those who are oppressed by it and are unable to voice their opposition to the tyranny they endure. I find his candor a breath of fresh air in a world that is often afraid to challenge convention. For every person he offends, I suspect there are two others who are empowered. I think that's a good thing.
