Borat is a character played by Sasha Baron Cohen who achieved fame with his series, The Ali G Show, on HBO. Cohen played a number of characters on his series and Borat has long been a favorite of those familiar with the series. You can find some additional video of Cohen and his characters here, here, and here.

The RNC has released a new ad, "These are the Stakes", that is designed to scare voters as they believe they can win when the public is focused on terrorism and threats to national security. I found another video that is a parody of the RNC ad that is called, "These are the Stingrays", that I've included below and that does a good job of poking fun at the Republican's fear tactics.
If I were the Democrats I would create a new ad by taking excerpts from this very ad and then intersperse them with regular Americans talking about their fears of continuing with a do-nothing, rubber-stamp, GOP controlled Congress. I think its time for the Democrats to go toe to toe with the GOP with a light hearted...but very pointed "Fear Factor" campaign.
I just don't think fear can work this time if the Democrats will hit back. Karl Rove has made a career of taking his opponents strengths and turning them into liabilities...and its time someone return the favor. His house of cards is ready to fall.

The GOP is on the offensive in an attempt to blame the Democrats and a "network of gay staffers" for leaking the details about Congressman Mark Foley as well as sitting on the information until it would provide them maximum partisan advantage. Stewart skewers the argument in this video clip courtesy of John at AMERICAblog. Samantha Bee also spoofs the issue by comparing the war on congressional child predators to fighting the war on terror.

I first saw Minnie Riperton on the Mike Douglas show and he was amazed at her vocal range...a fact that is never missed when Riperton is discussed. Minnie Riperton never had the chance to explore where her career could have taken her though her influence was carried forward by a number of other well known talents including Mariah Carey. VH1 called Riperton a one hit wonder which may be technically correct but when compared to other one hit wonders, her career sadly ended with her death at the age of 31. If you would like to see the clip from VH1, you can find it here...it can't be embedded so I've provided this link. The following video clip is of her hit song Lovin' You.

If you care to see how desperate the GOP is to shift the blame for the Foley scandal to everybody but themselves, take a look at this video of the usual Republican talking heads giving it their best shot....
