however, i have to correct you on the assumption that the SNL digital short originated last year with Andy Samburg - even though he has contributed to many of them since he joined the cast last year, the Digital Shorts have been around for a number of years. It's been used for some really arcane ideas and they aren't always music videos.

You are correct. I should have been clear and stated that they began to garner attention last year. These digital videos have become a focal point that seems to have drawn some new viewers to SNL.
